I froze when I heard those infamous pipes over the store's system - Clay sinnging Solitaire!! My mood instantly went from dreading the task of stockpiling groceries to singing really loud & floating up & down the aisles!! Thank you, Kroger, for making my day!! I have not heard Clay in a food store for so long that I thought I was losing my mind at first - haaahaaa!

I went in just to get some cough drops but when I heard his voice, I had to shop around! I ended up buying way too many things I didn't need! I just couldn't leave until that beautiful song was over!

I inquired about what music service they used but no one knew since it was controlled by the corporate office. Of course, while just shopping it is hit or miss re: hearing him but being there for six hrs at a time - well it made my day. No longer work there tho.

I met you at the Chandler Concert and since you live not too far away from me, wonder if it's the store at the edge of Rita Ranch, not sure of St names yet. Was so nice meeting you, what a great show that was. !!! I am usually in Alaska. and the store there called Fred Meyers is owned by Kroger also, and I have heard songs by Clay there as well. I do the same, just shop slowly and try to find where the best sound is!!

I tried to listen to the radio but got frustrated cause it is the same people singing over and over..so had to go to my cd... Gonna hope this year will be different... lucky, lucky girls...

But, one time, I had to laugh.....I felt like I was at a Daughtry concert. They played one Daughtry song after another. It was not my favorite grocery shopping trip....

Even if I am paying no attention to the background music, somehow my ears perk up when they play a Clay song. I have a neat little story to share. I was at Culver's (burger and ice cream shop) meeting a friend who was supposed to go to the Joyful Noise concert in Milwaukee with me but became ill and could not go. She wanted to hear all about the concert so we met for lunch. We were busy chatting and all of a sudden I heard Clay's The First Noel coming through on the loudspeaker. We both stopped talking and listened to the whole song. It seemed like he was saying to my friend, "Sorry you missed the concert but I am still here for you." At the end of the visit, we both left with a smile.
