Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I wanted to mention this here as so many of us knew and loved Margi DeLuca (board name was rottenrubysmom). Someone may have gotten ahold of her email address book to send out fraud/scam emails! Since I keep getting these emails, I wanted to mention it here. Of course, knowing that Margi passed away, I knew this was not coming from or authorized by her so I just deleted them. Today I decided to report to the government's consumer fraud area. This post may travel. About 3 weeks ago I began receiving emails (from fb NO REPLY @ your fanbox . com - without the spaces) with the subject: "Margi DeLuca sent a tiny youtube video to you" and subsequent emails entitled, "REMINDER: Margi DeLuca sent a tiny youtube video to you." The body of the email says: "Margi DeLuca wants you see this tiny youtube video and then there is a link to click that says, LAUNCH. (DO NOT CLICK ON LAUNCH) Margi DeLuca's time spent in this site helps fight Brain Cancer. To reduce unwanted emails: if you don't respond to (click) emails from any person, all further emails to you from that person are automatically blocked for 24 hours. To ensure you don't miss anything from Margi DeLuca please check your feed or inbox regularly. (DO NOT CLICK ON THE FEED OR THE INBOX) The bottom of the email says: This message was intended for (it will show your email address here) and was sent as a notification, invitation or reminder (digital goods subject to change in reminders) of an event initiated by Margi DeLuca using a third-party or platform application and may contain promotional materials and/or services for sale including digital goods received. To control messages sent to or from you, your contacts and/or FanBox, click here. (DO NOT CLICK ON "here") Our offices are located at: FanBox - 113 West G Street, STE 510, San Diego, CA 92101, USA --------- DO NOT CLICK ON ANY OF THE THE LINKS - If you do, it will verify all your information and open you to increasing numbers of unwanted spam emails. Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I just edited my 1st post to reflect that the email is coming from as I neglected to mention that, fb NO REPLY @ your fanbox . com - of course, without the spaces I know most of us are saavy enought to know not to click on email links that are suspicious but wanted to warn everyone anyway.

Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I am going to add this to the first post and here. Gerwhisp suggested the following cause and probable remedy to this problem. I have actually had it happed before too, from other email buddies, under their email addys, but not as often as this one that falsely says Margi wants me to view something (& it comes from someone other than her). Below is what gerwhisp suggests to do and I have changed my email PW now. I will try to reach Frank (Margi's husband) to see if they still have her account open and still using it. If so, I will suggest that he change the PW for that account. Have been meaning to call Frank anyway but wanted to give him some time after Margi's passing. If somebody hijacked Margi's email, which is usually the case and they just operate from that email .. the way to stop it is that someone would need go go into her email and change the password (happened to my brother's wife and it stopped once she changed the password). The other possibility, if you have received email in the past from Margi or mentioned her name in any of your emails is that your email might have been compromised and they are sending you false email mentioning someone/thing to get your attention with something familiar .. it's probably Margi's but just to be safe you might want to consider changing your email password also.
