Some people were in a depression until they heard Clay. A mother lost her baby after 10 days of fighting for his life. Clay saved this woman. A person wanted to end their life until they heard Clay's voice. The old feel young again. Kids who were bullied are not bullied no more because they read Clay's book. Babies go to sleep listening to Clay's voice. An autistic child speaks his first word ever when he stands in front of the TV and sees Clay on television and he says, "CLAY!" People who have not touched their art supplies in years are painting and drawing again. The media pounds Clay into the dust and he still is standing tall. Sure it caught my attention on Wild Card night, but that wouldn't have made me, look up someone on the internet, become a fan for 5 years , get involved in charity work for his foundation and other charities , go to multiple concerts , go to NYC to see a broadway play , join a local fan group , buy more than one of the same cd - not this sensible and shy person. It's something else and who knows what that something else is? I figure there's a reason and don't worry too much about it. As OLMass's wife said in that touching letter she wrote to Clay. I agree aliicat, with that statement, there does not seem to be and explanation for me either, I just love everything about the guy, and I will do forever, by the looks of things. I am addicted to Clays voice .I am also (libra) the scales, although I do not believe in that, I think Clay has never really been fairly treated. Clay also inspires me incredibly.

There is something about that voice that just reaches in and grabs me to the core....that is something that I cannot explain, no matter how hard I try. So, for me, at first, it was his voice. When I ask myself "Why this long?", then I'd have to say that it must be his "heart" that powers that voice. No matter where Clay's path leads him, he is always just fine. All through some very horrible times, he has comes out on top. He doesn't need to fight, he doesn't need to defend himself.....he knows who he is and he is happy with that. How could I not want to stand by him after all these years??? He basically is teaching others to be strong, and to love yourself, and to stand up for what you believe in, and to serve others, however you can. I think I just answered my question. He is an inspiration. He enriches lives. I am a stranger to him, but, somehow, I feel a connection. I like who he is and what I believe he stands for. I like and admire how he handles himself and how he chooses to live his life. I love how he includes us in his life, and I feel that the love and appreciation he extends to us is genuine. I will be a fan of Clay Aiken's as long as he wants me to be.

Let me first tell you that my family and I are extremely close we all lived together at one time. It was my mom, who is a single parent, me, my grandma and my grandpa. My grandpa was my everything. He was my best friend, grandpa, and dad, because my real dad was always to busy. I never remember my dad being around when I was little. Then my grandpa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He fell down a flight of stairs on his way to see me and I thought for the longest time it was my fault. After that things got much worse. He was never able to come home after that and had to go into a nursing home. My mom had promised my grandpa that she would always take care of my grandma. We moved into a new house and town in September 2002. We visited my grandpa almost every day. Then on January 26, 2003 my grandpa died. I was extremely depressed and hurt because I thought it was my fault. If he hadn't tried to come to see me he would have never fallen in the first place! I wanted to end my life! I have always been a pretty happy person and I was always smiling until my grandpa died. I stopped smiling for a long time. I wasn't happy anymore. I wanted to be with my grandpa. Then Clay came on American Idol and smiled and for the first time in a long time I smiled. My mom and grandma watched in amazement. I would love to be able to tell him that he saved my life and how much he means to me. I also want to tell him that I will always love him no matter how old I get because he has helped me through some really tough times in my life. He inspires me to be the best person I can be. I know that he went through some rough times growing up also, but he had the strength to overcome and that gave me strength. He encourages me, by his own example, to go after my own goals and dreams. It would be an honor to be able to talk to him and give him a hug!

Hearing his voice, seeing his expressions and how he presented himself struck a cord in my heart. And it has played ever since. Simple as that.

I not always good with words but hope some get what Im trying to say: From the first time I heard you on TV singing Always and Forever for Simon and Randy I was moved and blown away by your voice. Im a singer myself and love music and I knew right then and there you had that IT factor going on. As I followed you through Season 2 of AI I grew to love and admire your talent more and more. I also started to see that you had a big heart to go along with your big beatiful voice where does that voice come from I realized that you were gonna be a rare celeberity figure that we had never seen or come in contact with before and I found it VERY refreshing and still do!! When your season ended on Idol I was surprise that unlike some others that I was fan of and lost interest in there was something about you that kept me coming back for more no pun inteneded lol. Your first interview with Primetime with Diane Sawyer touched me cause I could relate sooooo much with what youd been through cause I went through a lot in my life including being teased and made fun of all through grade school and high school. Trust me I know all to well what its like to march to your own drummer and its very hard but as you learned Im sure its very rewarding to not be a follower of the crowd but a leader. I also had sperm donor father issues as well so it really connect with where you were coming from and it made me feel that even a celebrity can be down to earth and show themselves voulnable especially if it helps others. Which I say goal accomplished with your book LTS. I cant tell you how many times I ve read section in it and it moved me so much and help me with my self esteem issues. I knew if you could go through Idol and deal with the media and all thats with it and still stand tall and stay true to yourself then I knew I could do it as well. Five years later you still are a inspiration to me. I could go on more but that just the tip of the iced berg. Youve gone through so much and I know it hasnt been easy at times throughout the last five years but I know as it says in your song Ashes "what didnt kill you only made you stronger". I know theres many times the media and even fans can make you dishearted and make you want to walk away and go back to a somewhat normal life again. But I hope when you feel that way you can take a look at this thread and know there are many of us fans who truly do care and support you. And we have done it for five years and we're more than ready to continue this ride for five more years and then some. Were very proud of you and all that youve accomplished in this short five years in the limelight. You have touched many of us more than you know and please dont ever forget it. Your life has certainly took a 180 degree turn from what you thought it would be five years ago and even with some of the pain youve endured over the last several years Im sure youve also had some joys that you would never trade in for anything. Your future is so bright your gonna need shade hehehe! And now you have a beatiful son and "dear friend" to share it with. So Clay I never had a chance and maybe never will get a opportunity to tell you this in person so Im glad I was able to share it with you here. If I had to sum it up for me Im still here five years later simply because ..........you are you and theres no one like you and never will be. You are a original one of a kind talent Clay with a even bigger heart. And I continue now and forever to admire, love , and repect you for it Cant wait share more memories with you wherever your career takes you. Next stop Spamalot for a secound run. Break a leg..saw you twice earlier this year and cant wait to see you again in October. Take a easy and enjoy your new family you desearve to be happy and it makes me happy to know your happy. You may have solved the mystery for a lot of us!!! The way he sings, talks, laughs or even moves is so familiar and comfortable, just like you feel around a friend. It was the heart of this young man five years ago that sucked me in, now, it's the same heart, perhaps even bigger and more full of love, in that gorgeous man that can sing like no other, that we love to love. Kayleigh....love your montages !!! I hope that Clay continues to influence and inspire you. He is a lucky man to have you for a fan !!!
