Don is still trying to recuperate from the last surgery. I've been at the hospital with him everyday. He had an infection which made him much less alert
and is still having trouble breathing.

My son had his surgery this evening. They took him into surgery at 5 pm saying the surgery would take
about 4 hours. They came out one hour later which terrified us. .
harming him even more. The scan didn't show 2 more fist sized masses in his groin area. The doctors took a biopsy of the masses and they were forced to close him up without removing anything.
Chemo will start soon and hopefully the tumors will shrink so the surgery can be attempted again.
Please keep sending out your love and good thoughts and prayers to him.

The kidney tumor is cancer, leiomyosarcoma, a very rare one. It only occurs once in about 250,000 cancers or so.
Don is having a very tough time of it. When he starts to improve he will have 2 rounds of chemo to shrink the tumor/s and then
have surgery at UCLA. I've been hearing it was USC but now I'm hearing UCLA. Whichever it is will be good. Pray he can improve to that
point.
Evey, his wife just contacted me. Don was just transferred back to ICU.

Don's incision opened and he will have surgery to correct it at 6 am tomorrow. I've been there all day with him today
and I'll be there in the morning.

My son had his surgery this evening. They took him into surgery at 5 pm saying the surgery would take
about 4 hours. They came out one hour later which terrified us. .
The nuclear scan had shown a tumor in his kidney 11 cms, 6 inches long, which took up the entire kidney and was
diagnosed as cancer.
What didn't show on the scan: the kidney was adhered to several of his organs and couldn't be removed without
harming him even more. The scan didn't show 2 more fist sized masses in his groin area. The doctors took a biopsy of the masses and they were forced to close him up without removing anything.
Chemo will start soon and hopefully the tumors will shrink so the surgery can be attempted again.
