I'm from Norway (not too far from Finland by the way!) I confess I don't go to McDonald's much so I don't really know much about the menu there, but I do know we have a salmon burger that I guess may not be available in all countries. So instead of talking about McDonald's in Norway I thought I'd tell you some facts about Norway in general

I guess one of the cliches about Norway is that it's always cold here and for the most part it's actually true - but we can get nice and warm weather during the summer. Norwegian summers can be very idyllic:

We have only about 4.5 million people living here, which is not a lot, but it still seems pretty crowded when you walk up the main street in Oslo on a Saturday morning in December

Norway is the country where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented, the country that arranged the Winter Olympics in 1952 and 1994 and will definitely not arrange it in 2018.. the country of trolls (not the kind of trolls that lurk on message boards though), Thor Heyerdahl, World Idol Kurt Nilsen, and You Raise Me Up-creator Rolf Løvland.

We have a pretty nifty way of celebrating our constitution day, May 17th - with a parade of children. The parade in Oslo is the biggest of them all and ends in front of the Royal Palace where the Royal Family stand on the balcony to watch. I know you haven't released your album in Norway but I know one other Norwegian fan who talked to you at the CD signing in NY earlier this year, and I know some people who are not on the boards but have still heard about you and your music. I'm sure you'll get more fans here in time! The episode of Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader that you were in aired on Norwegian TV today so that's a start I guess.. I heard about you a few years ago through another message board and became a fan and I'm not going anywhere

To end this post I'll include some fun "facts" from the facebook group entitled "you know you're Norwegian when"..

YOU KNOW YOU'RE NORWEGIAN WHEN...

- you know all your teachers, doctors, neighbours etc. by their first name.
- you prefer to stand during a bus trip instead of sharing seat with a person you don't know.
- you laugh at any joke about Swedes.
- you have plenty of Swedish words in your Norwegian everyday vocabulary.
- your family has at least one member named Ola or Per.
- you have a friend named Kjell, Kåre or Jonny, or Kjell Kåre Jonny.
- you have a potato pancake around your hotdog.
- you use English words and phrases in every second sentence, e.g. «det var helt tasteless» or «vi snakkes da, take care».
- you get insulted when people think that vikings were from Denmark or Sweden,
- or when people say that Santa Claus is from Finland.
- you know at least five different words for snow.



Hope you come to Norway soon, if not on tour then at least on vacation.. and if you go to McDonalds, try not to take strong painkillers beforehand and end up falling flat on your face in there!
