Best Buy had one for 69.99.....with over 300 Gigs and then we saw another one with 500 gigs...that was around 300.00.... Does anyone know what the difference would be...and how you can tell if you are getting the most for your money.. Would the Best Buy be ok to get?

I don't know how much help this will be because I don't know what you plan to use it for, but I have three external hard drives and I love them. I just don't like CDs for my computer. They get cluttered and once the info is burned in, it's there. And I have had at least one to go bad, thereby destroying everything on it. It was all early Clay and I had a heck of a time re-creating it. The info on the External hard drive is pretty well protected in a hard case. The external hard drives/flash drives/jump drives (what they are called depends on the brand) are just like the drive in your computer, except it's on a little thingy about the size of a Bic lighter. If your computer crashes, you still have your Clack and all you have to do is plug it into the USB on any computer that has the players, and watch/listen. Then unplug it and take it with you. The info is not burned in. You can change, add to, delete files, etc.just like you do in the computer. Corsair's Flash Voyager is good. Attache' PNY is good Memorex is good Sony Lexar Different prices depending on the Brand. Almost everybody is making Flash Drives/external hard drives now. I have an Attache' PNY, 4g and it holds everything from My Documents, including pictures, etc., and I still have a LOT of space. If I go someplace, I just pick up my Attache' and take it with me to use on "their" computer. I'm not sure how much Clack it would hold with Videos, etc.. I have a Corsair that has less space, and I also have an itty bitty Lexar. There are many brands and I think one is just about as good as the other. If I need another, I will buy another 4g. Depending on what you plan to use it for, you might want a larger one. The 4g is pretty standard. However, storing Clack is not exactly standard. lol I hope some of this was helpful. But I know that I would not be without my external hard drive/s.

Posts: 233 12/15/07 2:57 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I have 2 external hard drives. A western Digital media center 200gig and an i/o magic 250gig. The first one was $189 at Costco and the second one was about $99 at Fred Meyers. Both use USB ports and are very dependable. I noticed that Fred Meyer also carries a 500gig i/o magic for about $189 and i am in Alaska where things tend to be just a little more expensive. I also burn everything as data to DVD's and keep them in 240 disc cd cases. If you collect clack the way i do you have no choice and the DVD's hold about 6 times what a cd holds. Nero is wonderful at burning data discs. Not every burning program will do data. I am really looking at adding that 500gig except my usb ports are full and i would have to add more or get a hub. I personally find it impossible to hit the delete button for any of my clack! Yes i'm an addict!

I still need to figure out how to connect it., and then figure out how to store my clack there, and still get to it easy whenever I want to watch it. I know this might sound like a dumb question.. but sometimes, I am still learning how all of my stuff works on my computer. I went from a MAC to a PC in the past year.. and on a MAC, things seem to be so much easier to find, when they are stored.. and here on the PC, I am still figuirng some things out. When I put up my external harddrive.. how do I move my clack files over to this drive? And, then when I want to watch them, on my WMV, how do I retreive them? Does that make any sense? I am just wanting to make sure, whatever I store in the external harddrive, is easy to get it over there, and then easy to get to those files again, Again, sorry, if thise sounds strange, or kind of dumb. but i sometimes get a little confused, where things go as far as stored files.. again, if that makes any sense.

It costs around $100. It is realy easy to use! Just plug in the AC power and plugin the USB and then save to that harddrive! Very simple! Go to my computer and you should see an icon for your external drive if you have it installed. You can drag files on to it or click on it and open it up and create files to store whatever you want. You can drag that icon to your desktop and create a shortcut to click on so you always have your files right in front of you and you don't have to keep opening up my computer. To view the files in this drive just click on them like you would in your regular drive. You can copy these files back to your regular drive by just dragging and dropping, and if you want to move the file back to your regular drive then just cut and paste the file or folder. Im sure you have it figured out by now but just in case i hope this helps.
