But because of this growth, it comes as no surprise that more and more Beta Alpha Chapters and other groups are launching fundraisers to help TBAF reach its goals.
As a result, we're seeing a huge increase in the number of fundraisers we are being asked to allow on the Board. It therefore has become necessary for us
to reexamine our policies involving the posting of TBAF fundraisers here at The Clayboard to see what is the best way to make sure that they're seen and
people have a chance to participate without overwhelming the Street. We are also hoping to increase the use of our own TBAF Forum here on the CB; there is a lot
of great information there we don't think people are aware of.
Only fundraisers which have been approved by TBAF are allowed to be posted. Once you have received approval from TBAF, please PM a Mod for approval to
post on this board. In your PM please state whether the BAF has approved the fundraiser, the length of time the fundraiser will run and the percentage of the
proceeds which will go to TBAF (please also include this information in your post announcing the fundraiser).
Once you have received approval from a Moderator, you may post your thread on the Street. We'll leave your thread on Clay Street for 24 hours and then
move it to the BAF forum. If you or your Beta Alpha chapter does not have an existing thread in the BAF forum, we'll leave the thread open once
we've moved it. If you do have an existing thread in the BAF forum, we'll lock it and you will need to update your existing thread (see below).
Please note: in order to allow all fundraisers equal visibility, we are limiting each BAF chapter to one thread per chapter in our BAF forum.
If your chapter has more than one fundraiser going at once, they all need to be posted in one thread. If you need help changing the title of the thread to
announce a new fundraiser, please PM a mod. If at some point, you would like your old thread locked and would like to start a new one, please PM a mod and
we'll lock your old thread.
To continue to give each approved fundraiser visibility on Clay Street, there will be a stickied "Clay Street TBAF Fundraisers" thread posted on Clay
Street.
It is our hope that this new policy will continue to give fundraisers a "voice" on Clay Street, but will also bring a new resurgence to our TBAF
Forum. At the same time, this will also free up Clay Street for breaking news, which has always been its main purpose.
We also have a new separate WFI subforum to make the WFI threads easier to find. We'll leave that forum active as long as WFI is in progress.
Added 10/9 - After input from our members and discussion among the staff, we have decided to allow fundraisers to be featured in the BAF forum
for their last 48 hours to bring to people's attention that they have a limited time left to participate in that fundraiser. So at least 72 hours before
your fundraiser is to end, please PM mamarose or Rhustress with a link to your thread and when your final 48 hours will begin (in other words the time your
thread should begin to be featured). One of the mods will then feature it at the appropriate time.
