CB99's Yuku Tutorials, FAQs and Helpful Hints
I've gathered all of my tutorials and I'm going to plan to keep them on this post to make it easier.
Posting - Toolbar Info & Old Emoticons:
Also, I've read comments about confusion over formatting your posts. This is a bit sloppy, but here is something I made really quick to help you when you go to post.
![]()
After you click the smilie button on the toolbar on the Reply pafe, the old CB smilies (emoticons) will appear. To actually insert a smilie, left click on the smilie you would like, and it will automatically be inserted into your post.![]()
How To Get an Avatar:
First, click on your name anywhere on the board to view your profile. Using the image below as a guide, click the "Edit" link in the green box on your profile.
![]()
The next page should say "Avatar" at the top. Click the image that comes up. A new page will load with an upload box. Click browze and select the picture you would like to be your avatar. Click upload. That should work!
Hiding Certain Posts
With Yuku, you can hide certain posts if you'd like. By going to the top, right hand corner of a post, you will see a sign such at this one:
![]()
Clicking this link will hide a post. To reopen, click the sign that appears in it's place, looking like this:
![]()
This feature can really help if there is a long, unneeded post you would like to hide temporarily.![]()

Is there a way to make the font size larger?
If you mean in posts, yes. If click second button on the toolbar above where you type your post. See this image:
![]()
When I scroll through the emoticons, it skips past some when it goes to the new page. Even if I stretch my page, there are still skipped emoticons. I can't find
or :oftobed which is what I'm going to do now.
When you open the emoticons, if you want to browse through slowly, click on the light gray background inbetween the boxes of emoticons and drag to the left or right. This will slowly drag the emoticons in either direction.
![]()
If an emoticon does not appear in the right place in your post (due to your cursor not being where you want the emoticon to be), you can left click and drag the emoticon throughout your post.
Posting Images:
Click Insert Images:
![]()
And then if you click "ADD FROM URL", you can add any image link, like in the past.
Becoming Anonymous on Users Online list:
To become anonymous, click Navigation at the VERY top of the page. When clicked, a new section should appear. On the left hand side, click settings. On the next page, in the links bar, click Settings. Scroll down to "Be Anonymous" and check that box. Then click submit. That should do it.

How do you get back here or to the main page from your profile page? I keep having to use my bookmark.Another way to easily click back is if you go your profile, there is a section for favorite links on the lower left hand side.
![]()
If you click edit, as seen above, and insert a link for the Clayboard (Only the Clayboard's new URL seems to work: http://theclayboard.yuku.com/directory), you can click the link from your Profile page for easy access back here.

And everyone, it's no problem.I figured since I'm a techie I should help out how I can!

Silly Question - but we SO enjoyed it during the summer tour - do we have a chat room anywhere?
Yep! If you go to the main page of the CB, right above Clay Street there's a link to a chat room!

When I click on my profile, there is nowhere to PM me showing. Would someone please check my profile and see if they can send me PM? Thanks
On Yuku, I've realized you cannot see your OWN contact table, but you can see the contact tables of every other user. So if you view your own profile, you cannot see a "Message" button, but it is, indeed, there.

Doesn't seem to be a way to private message someone.I believe by clicking on someone's name on the board, it should take you to their profile where you can click "Message" to PM them.
Changing Time Zones:
Foxy, at the top of the screen click Navigation. On the left hand side of the section that pops up, click Settings. Then, on the links bar, click Time Zone. Make sure you check the box on the Time Zones page as well as changing your time zone - mine did not work until I did so.
If you don't know which time zone you are in according to GMT, here it is. I gave the entire chart because I know Clay fans are from ALL over. I don't know names of all the time zones so here are just cities/countries within the zones.
Alaska: GMT -9
Pacific: GMT -8
Mountain: GMT -7
Central: GMT -6
Eastern: GMT -5
Atlantic: GMT -4
Brazilia: GMT -3
Mid Atlantic: GMT -2
Azores: GMT -1
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT): GMT
Rome: GMT +1
Israel: GMT +2
Moscow: GMT +3
Baku: GMT +4
New Delhi: GMT +5
Dhakar: GMT +6
Bangkok: GMT +7
Hong Kong: GMT +8
Tokyo: GMT +9
Sydney: GMT +10
Magadan: GMT +11
Wellington: GMT +12
Hope that helps everyone understand.
Kudos:
Kudos, I believe, are all for fun. If you like a thread or something someone is doing, you can give the thread or the person kudos. This will draw attention to a thread, or just make someone feel important, I guess? Haha. I've seen kudos used before just for enjoyment.![]()
You give kudos by going to the top of a thread and clicking the heart, as been below.
New PM Alert:
I asked about how we are supossed to know about getting new messages and here is the reply:
Hi CB,
You should receive an e-mail letting you know of new messages in your inbox. Also when you are Yuku and you have a new message the "navigation" button at the top right of the screen will turn a bright ice blue (normally it's a dark grey). We are working on a redesign of the top navigation bar to make it more obvious when there's new messages.
Btw, if you didn't receive an e-mail notifying you of new messages check your spam folder. If you still don't find it let me know and I'll have someone look into it.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Kristin
Can i ask why my post count is 9515 on my profile but 6121 on here please (2nd request Yuku peeps!
)!!!!!!!!!!!
kimfreeuk, first of all, you're welcome!
The reason for what you asked is because ezBoard deleted old posts. Those posts are taken away from the post count that appears on the board, but not from the post count on your profile. Because of this, the one showing here is how many posts you can still read (if you search far enough), and the one on your profile is how many posts you have EVER posted.
Turning off Email Notification:
Note: I'm sorry for not using thumbnails, I just want to make sure everyone can read this images clearly.![]()
wm7ca, when you are in your preferences, click Notifications on the links bar, and then Options in the 2nd links bar, which appears underneath.
Scroll down and make sure the form looks like this (you will probably uncheck 3 boxes), and then click submit.

I can't find where to change my settings. There are only 10 posts to this page.
Claybaybay, If you scroll to the VERY, very top of the page on the right side it should say "NAVIGATION". After clicking that, when the new section appears, click "Settings" on the left panel. Then when the new page loads, in the links bar, click Preferences and in the box below update how many replies you want per page.
FoxyLady wrote:
I click Settings, then Preferences. I find no Notification Option. The only Notification I see is in the blue above Preferences and that doesn't show Notification option either.
If you click Notification in the Blue Bar, Options should appear below, like this:

Grrrrrrr! I look on my profile page and can't find preferences.![]()
When you're on this page, scroll to the very top right. On the bar, click Navigation. On the left side click settings, and then click Preferences in the middle. PM if you need to!

When you go to reply, click the Photobucket button, and if you have linked to a Photobucket album, that album should appear like in the image below, allowing you to select an image to post!

Then, use your mouse to highlight the text. Then, click the link button and type in the URL, like so:

Click ok. You have a link!

Where are the old emoticons????? and How do I access and use them?????
Go to the top of the FAQ and look at the toolbar info. See the button for smilies? That will give you access to all of the old emotions.
toni7babe and angels0604 - That is one of things I don't know. I PMed a mod about it. If I can post a response for you, I will!

Can someone help me please, were do we find our Clay Mail, and how do we change the saying under our name? If the answers to these question are posted please point me in the right direction. I am not a computor person but after reading the instructions I did add Clay picture, I am so proud. than of myself. lol Thanks for any and all help.
JNL, when you have new mail, at the VERY, very top of page, the Navigation button will turn a different shade of blue. You can click navigation that will open a new section. On the left panel of that section it says Inbox. Click that, and you're there. Or, on the same line as where it says "Navigation", it says Inbox. Both work. As for the saying under your name, aka your Member Title, I PMed a mod about that. If I find out, I'll update you!

I'm sorry if this has already been asked (I haven't read the entire thread) but, I'm trying to "jump" pages within the thread. I typed in the page number, then what? I can't seem to make it jump.
You've almost got it. When you click jump near where the page numbers for a thread are located and enter the page number, you have to click enter afterwards.
Subscriptions & RSS
I've gotten quite a few questions about this subsription RSS updating.
First, I don't believe the email subscriptions were working last night, but starting at 1:30 PM EST, my email started to be flooded with emails letting me know about posts of this thread.
Also, on the bottom of the page next to the option to subscribe, there's a link to RSS, as well as on the top of page, like this:
![]()
The left button is RSS, and the right is to subscribe to an email subscription. The RSS button is available to be clicked anywhere throughout the boards. Clicking the RSS button on the very main page of CB will show you the entire board's most recent posts. Clicking it inside a certain forum (such as Clay Street) will show you that forum's most recent posts. Clicking it inside a thread will show you that thread's most recent posts.
This can be really helpful in some situations, and it is not fill your email up.
PMing Groups of Friends at Once
I've read a lot of people wanting to make a "friends list" to PM them all at once. I just found a way to have multiple groups of friends to easily PM them all.
First, go ahead and click navigation at the very top of the screen.
![]()
On the new section that pops up, on the left panel, click Inbox.
![]()
On the new page that appears, scroll down, and on the left hand side click Groups.
![]()
On the new page that appears, enter your new group title and details: NOTE! No spaces or special characters are allowed, only letters. After you are done, click Create.
![]()
On the next page, your group will appear on in a new box below. To add members, type in their screenname, followed by .u. For example, you can add me just to test it out. My name would be typed in like it is below, claysbuttercup99.u
![]()
To add more members, click add, and repeat the process.
When you are finished, to message your group members (if you tested with my name, feel free to send me your test PM), on the top right hand corner click Compose New Message.
![]()
To send a PM to the group you just created, in the "To:" box, type in the name of your group followed by @group. For example, if your group name was MyFriends, your email address to send an email to ALL group members would be MyFriends@group.
![]()
Once you have an email written, click send!
If you send a test to me, I will reply telling you I have recieved your test PM.If you have any problems, let me know!
