I was SO sad when you left TTC, partly because of the "Clay's Voice" thread and all your zapruding. Is it possible to start one of those here so we can continue? Maybe you could transfer your work over here so you can bless this board. Anyway, just a thought!

Posts: 0 09/15/03 11:33 PM More Recent Posts	Pearrrlywhites, I have a question about the preservation of Clay's 'platinum' vocal chords and I am not confident that RCA or his management company is concerned about him, in the long run. I know the 'three tenors' vocalize daily and don't talk much on the day of a concert. I believe Celine Deon does the same. I remember in the Frank Sinatra movie that he once had a problem and actually didn't know whether he would ever sing again. I think about Clay on MDA and how his voice cracked, even before the glory note after that gruelling concert tour. Do you think anyone is giving him good advice? I like the song, and I love the way Clay sings it, but his voice always sounds strained to me in some parts whenever he sings it. I did not hear him in concert, so I don't have a live performance to compare, but the best I've heard him sing this song, including the CD and TV appearances, is the first time he sang it on AI2 last contest night. I didn't post much because although I'm from a musical family, with a mother who studied voice and piano for 13 years, your every analysis was always so complete and in-depth that I was astounded. No matter what the song, you always made at least one or two observations that I had originally missed, but after you pointed them out, I realized you were absolutely accurate. And I especially love that you point out range and often identify exactly what note a so-called glory note actually is-and ditto for especially deep or resonant notes as well. I have good pitch, but not perfect pitch, and no access to a piano at the moment, so I love it when you identify spectacular notes. I know someone had asked you to Zapruder the new single Invisible and that was supposed to be your next task. I'm wondering if the problems at TTC have delayed it, or are you reluctant to analyze this song? I know that I still have a bit of hesitation over the first verse-wish they would have re-recorded that bit. And I have never called for anything of Clay's to be redone in the past. I'm not one of those people who think that they can advise Clay and/or RCA. But I love the song overall and think it will be a huge hit. Maybe the most devoted fans are the only ones who will notice the discrepancy.... Pam
