I am amazed by this. Luckily, most Clay fans do respect the fact that flashes really bother his eyes. I will never forget the respect that I witnessed in that handshake line after the Meadowbrook concert. No one was rude, but Jerome made it very plain that we could not take flash pictures. Not only would the flashes have bothered Clay, but they also would have ruined the experience for other fans. The security people commented more than once about how impressed they were with the good behavior of Clay's fans. I think we did him proud. Yes, I am proud to call myself a Claymate! No, I didn't bring my rolling pin, but if someone nearby had been using a flash, I'd assume they didn't know it wasn't permitted and I would have gently let them know how much flashes bother Clay's eyes. not at all..I just said that different venues..different type of events..different things happen. I never said that I thought that the flashing was good. But..geez..did people have to be so pushy about telling her...esp. since she had permission to take pics? I wouldn't have said anything to her....mind your own business and let security do it. It is their job.

I was a serious Clay fan from his first audition but didn't start perusing the net for info about him until after the AI5 finale. I would never have known that he was sensitive to flash cameras or some of the other things that I have learned since then. Please don't dismiss the others in his fandom who may not have the time or the desire to read the boards.

I have several friends who have gone to multiple Clay concerts but have never so much as looked at Clay stuff on the internet. And I would never have known about the flashes myself if I hadn't read the message boards. Even though Clay has encouraged fans to address the flash issue, the some of the other concert-goers have no idea that Clay has done that and probably do think Clay's die-hard fans should mind their own business. I'm not giving credibility to the writer of the article in this case -- just saying that not all casual fans know the "rules" and could easily misunderstand the intent of the more "vocal" fans.

But people with small amounts of credibility who try to worm their way into 'face time' with stars are obviously not pros. Maybe when she grows a bit she'll get a REAL press pass and a real pro camera. Geesh that might be dangerous. Let's hope she's promoted to editor or something and taken off the concert review beat soon.

By STACY MILBOUER is under the title of each article, and they are both dated the same date. So the name is on the 2nd article, some people must have missed it when reading it. I find it curious and interesting that she wrote both things--one glowing, one nasty. 2 personalities maybe? Juist thought I'd point it out that the same person wrote both articles.

They came by when a person flashed one or two pictures to tell them to stop but this woman was flashing them like crazy over and over again, and no one stopped her. Why the heck not!!! Security stopped someone the row behind me. I know because their talking disrupted one of his songs. So where were they during EIH? It drove me insane watching Clay get blinded and security did nothing!!!!!

I remember when electrician's tape was handed out at a concert to everyone with a camera in case they didn't know how to turn the flash off. Clay has addressed the problem with the flashes many times, as has Jerome. If anyone gets mad and refuses to be a Clay fan because they can't take a flash photo, so be it. JMO
