Good morning all!

We will be tracking week 78 sales for Tried and True in this thread. This Week - Clay's 33rd birthday on Nov 30 and Dec 4 True Colors Fund benefit concert at Beacon Theatre in NY (holiday music).

Next Week - Dec 10 National Inclusion Project Gala in Raleigh where Clay will sing various songs including some holiday songs and will premiere a new single.

Our last numbers for TNT are from 2/4/11 (USA Today Idol Chatter column).

Note that this does not include albums sold through PBS stations as those are not sound-scanned per Pink Armchair.

The milestones from Clay's first four full albums are in post 2 of this thread for reference.

It wouldn't be an HDD thread without starting with our sales poem, kindly written by Ilbun.

**** Chart Week of November 21, 2011 ****

Scotty McCreery was part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but you can bet he's also thankful for his album sales this week. Last week's 33,000 sales of Clear as Day put Scotty's album just under 500,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. By now, it will have easily passed that mark.

Kelly Clarkson, gave the broadcast-premiere performance of new single What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) on The X Factor, has the second best-selling Idol album, with Stronger.

Lauren Alaina, who appeared on tonight's PBS special, Country Music: In Performance at the White House, sold 9,000 copies of her Wildflower album, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

His Christmas Album Looks Like Top-Selling Release of Holiday Season

Michael Buble’s Christmas is the gift that just keeps on giving. The Reprise crooner will grab the #1 album slot next week, and likely stay there through the holidays, though Adele, Justin Bieber and The Black Keys will all challenge for the top spot.

Adele’s expected batch of Grammy nominations tonight for her 4.7 million-selling XL/Columbia album 21 could well put her in the hunt, while Bieber’s Island/IDJ release, Under the Mistletoe, and Nonesuch’s highly anticipated Black Keys record, El Camino, which comes out Dec. 6, will also be hot on Buble’s heels.

This week’s new release slate is rather slight, with Atlantic’s Trey Songz (18-22k) and the debut album from IMO/RCA’s Hot Chelle Rae (14-17k), who have a smash single in the ubiquitous “Tonight Tonight,” the top debuts.

Adele’s Live at the Royal Albert Hall DVD/CD package which, according to the label, will be counted only on the DVD chart, should do between 55-70k.

The market was down 5% vs. last year’s Black Friday, but up 39% from last week and still leading last year by 2%.

Track sales were up 2% vs. last week, flat vs. same week last year and up 10% year to date.

TEA (Track Equivalent Album) sales were up 30% vs. last week, down 4% vs. same week last year and up 4% year to date.

In a week filled with big debuts, American Idol acts placed two albums in top 10 of The Billboard 200. Daughtry's third album, Break the Spell, debuted at No. 8 with 129,000 sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Meanwhile, Scotty McCreery more than doubled his weekly sales for Clear as Day, selling 88,000 copies and climbing up to No. 9.

Lots of Idols saw increased sales for the week that included Black Friday. Kelly Clarkson's Stronger sales jumped 56% week over week, while Lauren Alaina's Wildflower sales more than doubled from the previous week. Mandisa passed 100,000 total sales for her What If We Were Real album, and James Durbin debuted at No. 36 with his Memories of a Beautiful Disaster album.
