C75 - sorry I missed your birthday, hope you had a great day Bella - you did good girl - way to go!! Aikenfan - you will miss Chelsea for a long time but she is in a better place and free from pain I am still shocked at the news about MJ - I guess we just don't know the pressures that celebrities face. He sure had a huge following. Looks like another warm sunny day - have a great weekend

This morning we spent by the pool, then this afternoon we did the 13 mile scenic drive through Red Rock Canyon. This evening we went to New York, New York for dinner and to the dualing piano bar. It was so much fun! Then we went up to Fremont Street. For anyone who hasn't been there, it's a completely covered street in Downtown Las Vegas where the Golden Nugget Casino is. The street cover is a dome and they have light shows every 1/2 hour. It was pretty cool. They also had 3 different concerts going on at different stages on the street. Tomorrow we plan to spent more time by the pool, do some more shopping and then go to see "O" tomorrow night. My friend who is in it is meeting us after the show to give us a backstage tour. MJ - how was Niagara on the Lake? Hope everyone is well!

First I just wanted to extend belated Birthday wishes to Patches and C75.....I hope you both had a wonderful birthday... I hope everyone is doing well....It's raining up here in Alliston today...but warm. Well, next week is our Cluncheon.....I know it's a bad time of the year, people on vacation, etc...but that is ok....we'll just be happy to get together...it won't be anything special, just lunch and getting together.... I'm going to do a little survery as to how often you would like to meet up...for these, and as much as I love the fact that Fran's is great for our needs, one fan cannot make these because she is in a wheelchair, and cannot attend... We had a great time in Niagara-on-the-Lake Friday afternoon. The weather was beautiful! I always enjoy walking around and browsing through the shops. The volume of people was quite low for a nice summer day, but we had heard that tourism is down for the Niagara region this year, so I guess that explains it. Yesterday I worked all afternoon. It was my first shift in a week and a half because business is down during this summer season. Last night we went to a BBQ at my cousins house, which was lots of fun. Maia was absolutely adorable! She is really smiling and laughing a lot now and is very alert to things happening around her. Bella: I hope everything is going well with the Habitat for Humanity house. claynadian75: Glad to hear that you are having a great time in Las Vegas! Enjoy 'O' tonight! Clayitagain: I think every 3 or 4 months would be nice to get together for cluncheons, but will be happy with what the majority decides. I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I just arrived home from Medicine Hat where I got to play and spoil the granddaughter. Also last night our son took us to his club for a lobster supper. All the lobsters were at least 2 1/2 ILS. The food was so good!! Happy belated birthday C75. Sounds like you are having a good time in Las Vegas. MJ I love Niagara On The Lake. We stayed in a B&B there a couple of years back. It is so beautiful and the shops are unique. Catherine all you have to do is highlight what you want to copy ( just left click and run your cursor over what you want to copy) then right click and click on copy. You can then go the page you want to paste too.R ight click and press paste. Hope that helps.

I'm officially on vacation this week and off to visit a good buddy overnight as a change from TO. c75 - Sounds like you and hubby are having a wonderful time! MJ - I had a blast at the Habitat site on Saturday. There are 50 semi-detached homes being built and our team worked on Nos. 25 and 26. Since I'm terrible on ladders and very short, I got to be the person using the huge caulking gun to put adhesive on all the floor rafters before the subfloor plywood sheets were nailed down. This meant that I was lying on a sheet of 4' by 8' plywood, before it was nailed down, over half the rafters. I'd add the glue, pull back the sheet and glue the rest of the beams. Since I knew how to use a set square (for measuring straight right angles) the team leader also had me measuring all the porch rafter beams and sheets of plywood before they were cut. I also had red hands by the end of the day, since I was using the chalk line to mark all the nailing seams on the subfloor. We ended up laying the subfloors on the second floor of both houses and I'd be happy to go back again. Clayitagain - Like MJ, a lunch every 3-4 months sounds about right to me too. Again, where the majority decides is fine with me too. I'm off to finish packing and hit the road. Have a great day all!

I'm up early today because I have a good buddy coming to visit me for the day and overnight. I don't work until Thursday this week, which will be a nice break, but then it's 4 days straight. Judy, as far as Cluncheons are concerned, I don't mind how often they're held, but I need enough notice to book the time off work. This one only gave me two weeks ( I know that's not your fault, though) and the schedule was already made up, plus, for me, summer is tough because everybody wants the weekends off. Also, in my case, it's a two-day event because I take the train in and back. At any rate, this will be the first one I've missed, and it won't be because I'm no longer a fan, as you all know. Will miss seeing everyone. Judy, thanks for organizing these, you know we all appreciate it. zakus, so glad you got to see your granddaughter. I bet she's changed a lot since the last time you saw her. c75, sounds like you guys are having a great time in Vegas. I've never been there, although I'd like to go sometime, but I know I'd never drag my hubby there. Just not his cuppa. MJ, I too love N-o-t-L. We usually go during the off-season though, fewer tourists and better parking. Hope everyone enjoys their day. Hugs all around...

It rained all day yesterday so decided to come home to sleep. Have to do some groceries, SIL's are coming in for my nephew's wedding this weekend. Couldn't get on the Clayboard last nite, so happy it's working today. Daughter is home for a month. She is taking French Immersion Part two here. She is also moving when she gets back to Kitchener. We will be going down to help her move. Grandson is also playing in another hockey tournament in mid August. Hope we can get to see a Blue Jay Game too. C-75 Sounds that you are having a lovely time in Vegas. Are you taking any time off work to move in your new house? Zakus - So happy that you had a nice time being with Kate this weekend. I've always said that's something I would love to get involved in someday. Well, I'm sitting in Vegas airport now waiting for my flight. "O" last night was so great! My friend Zipporah gave us a backstage tour after the show which was so cool. I can believe the shape people have to be in to do those shows. It's incredible. I also found out that a friend of mine who I haven't seen since high school is a drummer on the touring production of Wicked. If it comes back to Toronto I'm going to have to go see that again. I worked all morning and then went to the doctor's for my third allergy shot. Only one more shot to go and I am done for the season! I have to work again tomorrow, but then I get 3 days off. We have been having some huge thunderstorms this afternoon, one while I was at work and another one now. I can't wait to see the sun shining again. Just read on The Street that Clay is at the OFC answering questions. Yay! Will have to go over there later and check that out. Bella: The Habitat for Humanity project sounds great. I hear we will be getting more rain later today, but hopefully it will hold off for a bit. My parent's 25th wedding anniversary is coming up in a week and found out last night that the gift I want to give them has already been planned by a few of my aunts and uncles. Eeek! I was going to get them tickets to see Jersey Boys in TO and my aunt already bought them, so now I need to find something else in 7 days. I was thinking of getting them tickets to see Wicked in TO this fall, but I'm not sure if the show is coming for sure yet. I also decided last minute that it may be nice to put together a scrapbook of the past 25 years, so I need to start that immediately. We rented Gran Torino and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas yesterday and they were both amazing films! Have a great day everyone!
