If it's a kid's book I would still buy. Clay writes so well I would love to see what that's about.

I searched about David Vigiliano person and he has worked with a lot of celebs including Alicia Keys, etc so maybe it would not necessarily be a children's
book.

oh. they call him a bottom feeder and something equal to am ambulance chaser because of how he goes after his clients. although, IMO, I would not necessaryily
call him that. What is so wrong about seeking out clients to write .. something... instead of just waiting for people to come to you?? He has represented a lot
in the industry. In my book, it's all good.
Ok. and not to put a damper on anything, but I would hope this person is not approching out little controversy king to drudge up any turds and stir them into mush!!! eta: I can't imagine clay would do that though.

Very interesting - good news I hope!
It would be great if it was a memoir about the last six years. |

Bloomingclay wrote:Mod Hat Off... I tend to agree with Bloomingclay. Somehow I don't think this literary agent is into Children's books. And I really think Clay is wayyyy too smart to be drawn into "yellow journalism" of any kind. Since he will have total control (if this book rumor is indeed true), then I expect it will be something we will all be proud of. As far as its' selling well, anyone who has the right kind of promotion and advertising, and who has already had a book on the NY Times Best Seller List for 7 weeks stands a really good chance of having another best seller. Critical reviews will impact the sales also, but then I have to remember that every time Clay sneezes (or does a song review) there are a multitude of articles, news alerts, and blogs that cover it. People seem fascinated with his every move, so I am not going to spend any time being negative about sales figures. |

One of the tweets mentioned ItBooks, an imprint of Harper Collins. Here's a bit about ItBooks...
it seems to be a new venture... Joy, if this rumor is true, how do we know Clay would have total control? Dianne

Clay could write the phonebook....well, you know the rest of the story...... |

He would be (or has been) writing the rumored book. Other than edits for clarification, explanation, or grammar, it is still his book. In the end, I cannot imagine Clay putting his name as an author on a book that was not his. What little I know about the publishing biz, it would seem that until the book is accepted by the publisher, the publishing contract signed, the advanced paid and the check cashed, he still can take the "book" back. Somebody please correct me if I am way off base here...... |

Joy2talk2U wrote:Joy, I agree. My sister-in-law is a mystery writer. Her books are published by Bantam. She writes the book, sends it to her editor who makes suggestions like " I like this character, build her up a bit more" and sends it back to her. She makes said corrections or rewrites and sends the manuscript back. That can happen a couple of times then they send it on for proofing ( looking for misspells and punctuation) and she gets it back one last time for final approval. Then it's off for publishing, advertising and stocking the store shelves.
