I an unable to use mpegs in wmm, so don't use them in Sonic. Does anyone know what is going on for this lady? I would think that it isn't the fact that her player can't use mpegs ,as the encoding would alter the file format to a dvd format....right? I have Windows XP and use MY DVD10 software. I just open MY DVD and then add the videos I want and then click on the burn button ... at that point the window says it is encoding the videos one at a time. So I guess it is almost like when I burn a CD, adding the tracks in ... but when I burn a CD it doesn't say anything about encoding, etc. ... and the CD process goes very fast. When I burn a full DVD it takes about 3 hours. When I burned the mpg DVD it took 6 hours. I don't do any editing or authoring. The problem is that when I burn the dvd with mpegs it won't play on my player. When I burn it with wmv's, it does. Is it possible that my player won't play mpegs? Or is there another issue that can be addressed?

This doesn't seem to be her problem and doesn't sound familiar to me. I wonder if it's an old burner?

I lost my old computer...and my files...grandson took my two hard drives and put them into one...and they are sitting. Anyway, I got a Dell which has MSW XP Prof 2002, w/sp3....but it doesn't burn dvds and cds. Files need to go into the library before I can burn. I had a Sonic on my old computer and may be able to make it an external. Now when I put the disk in to burn, it says it does not recognize disk or drive. This happened after Best Buy got rid of a virus for me. The program is called Power Producer Gold.

I will answer here in case you see this first. How do you make videos from utube? I use a free program called Zamsar. You can get to it on the Net. how do you put pictures into photobucket You have to have a photobucket account. If you don't have one, go here… http://register.photobucket.com/ Once you get registered, you can start uploading your pics. Log in with your user name or email address and your password. Select from where you want to upload your files- ex. If they are on your computer, click on the computer dot (right side of the screen) Click on upload images and videos A screen will pop up which will allow you to find the location of your file that you want to upload. When you find it, click open. You will see the file upload . You might get a screen that allows you to add descriptions , share or tag your photos. If you don't want to do any of these you can just click return to album. Once you get some of the files on the site, you may want to organize them and make separate albums to which you will either move some of the ones you have or save new files to . (make sense??) You can organize your albums or make new ones by clicking on the albums and uploads button Once you have the photos on photobucket you can post them on Clayboard by clicking on the little world icon which is to the left of the smiley face on the reply screen tool bar. Wait a second and you will see the albums that you have on photobucket appear. Click one time on the file name and you will see the pics in that file. Click one time only on the pic and you will see it appear in your post. I don't know how to resize the photo ,but you can probably find out from any poster. You can also post from photobucket by using the URL under the pic in photobucket, copying it and pasting it in your post. The procedure has changed since I did it this way, so again you will have to ask someone else if you would rather do it that way. You would have to have both photobucket and the clayboard open to do it that way. Also, either way you choose, be sure that you don't move your original file on your computer or you will get the dreaded red x. Did your external drive come with software? Depends on which drive you are talking about. My external hard drive did come with an installation software disk. My external dvd burner also came with software. My old one came with Sonic My DVD, which I still use. My newer drive (I have one at work) came with Roxio. I do not use it as I am comfortable with my older one and didn't want to learn a new one until I had to. How do you make a backup of all of your vidoes or do you put them onto a dvd? That also depends. If I am working on something like the concert banter files, I usually keep my work files on a cd once I have each piece put to movie file, that way if my computer crashes or something I can still finish the project without the original base files. When I am finished with a program, I usually put all onto dvds . I also have all on an external hard drive, both as I am working on them and when I finish, if they are important to me. That way, if one drive fails I still have the files. How many hours can you put onto a data dvd vs a regular dvd? I can't answer that. I use single layered data dvds. Due to some flaw in my system, I keep my dvds to 55 minutes so that I can copy them. For some reason, and I think it is an issue with my computer dvd drive, I used to be able to make them an hour and 20 minutes. Now 55 minutes is it. You may not have the same issue. I believe that the dvd is actually supposed to hold 2 hours if your system allows for it. Also how do you put dvds to your hard drive or the external drive? I'm sorry I don't understand what you are asking. If you want to know how to save the stuff on a dvd to your computer, you would have to have software which allows you to create an image of the dvd to your harddrive. I use Sonic Record Now- came with the burner. The important thing is that you have to save the file as an ISO image (iso) file not a global image (gi). Do you know if there where any spamalot 2 dvds shows made besides the Jan4 finale? the show not stagedoor videos. There was video i seem to remember on you tube of spamalot before clay was there was it removed from you tube? Nope, only the first run. Hope this helps!
