If he weren't going to appear as a singer, then he would be there as one of Rosie's gay friends.I'm having trouble with that statement. I guess he couldn't be there as just a friend? It had to be as a gay friend? I think generalities such as that, that he was there because he's gay and she's gay, is what helps to continue to perpetuate all this "stuff". Alec Baldwin and Gloria Estefan did not perform, so were they there as gay friends also? That would be kind of strange since they are not gay. They were there as her friends. No adjective before the word "friends". The same goes for Clay. He was there as her friend, period.
So many times his fans are far more critical of what he says and does than anyone else. Far more critical and far more harsh than the media. And if I were Clay, that would hurt more. Words from strangers can be somewhat brushed off--but words from fans? Not so much. I often wonder if fans say things about their own friends like they say, via cyberspace, about Clay. If the answer is no, then why is it okay to do it to him? I've never understood that. Maybe it's just me, but I don't get it, never have, never will.
