It was way too short, but I loved seeing him. I'll never get to see him on Broadway, so I especially liked seeing him in the outfit. Also, LinluvsClay...... I turned it off after Clay was on...She said it was family friendly but I do not think so....

He needs to stop using that as a way to get attention, and get on with re-establishing himself as a fantastic singer. What the heck was he thinking. I keep contrasting tonight with his AI5 appearance. Is this the same guy? And the show is absolutely awful. Worse than awful. I would be surprised if it is not cancelled before next week. The best part was the pie in Conan's face. LOL WELL, I have not seen the show yet, but I too am disappointed already. It seemed very unnecessary. It may have been better if maybe Clay had sang a few bars of "IDOL OF MY AGE" if he was allowed to, and advertise SPAM that way, & ride off with Patsy. I so hoped ROSIE would have known better & have him sing. I hear Harry C sang a little bit, how nice for him. I soooo wanted to hear him sing a nice song, (like EIDN) & HE NEEDED TO SING TO US AND THE NATION!! Sounds like the show will not get good ratings. & Yes it does not sound to family friendly!! Too BAD!! I will watch up to the Clay part and that's it for me. Thanks for all the info girls!!!!

It was very disjointed and the jokes weren't funny! AS far as Clay's portion if you would have left the room for a couple of minutes you would have never seen him plus Rosie never mentioned him at the end when she thanked her guests! Out of sight out of mind sure applied here! I thought Liza Minelli looked so hyper she was going to jump out of her skin! If that show is picked up I would be amazing! I will never watch it again I can tell you!

Posts: 950 (11/26/08 10:47 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I didn't like the show, but I thought Clay was fine-it was just a walk on appearance like many of the other celebs on, and at least it gave him some current TV exposure-trying to "look on the bright side of things". As for Rosie, she is constantly making an issue of her lifestyle and I don;t think it is necessary-I am not interested in her private life, just like I would not be interested in many people's private lives- leave it at home and entertain-that is what people are paying for. It's getting old.

But it makes perfect sense that he would promote Spam-a-lot. I was also hoping for the skit type of variety show like Carol Burnett. But his little appearance was great. And now maybe lots more people realize he's been starring in a Broadway show. The show did seem kind of lame to me - I sure hope it gets better and makes it, because since Rosie likes Clay so much, I'm sure she would have him back on to sing sometime later. There aren't that many opportunities anymore for singing on primetime shows. It would be great to have a popular Clay friendly one. And as far as talking about his being gay - it's nothing to be ashamed of. So why not talk about it. If some people still have problems with it - it really is your problem and Clay doesn't need to embrace it as his problem. Blooming is right. It's one thing to make fun of yourself, it's another if other people do it to you. Yes someday it would be nice if no one even gave it a second thought and everyone accepted everyone else for who they were. But until that day, Clay will be better off if he can show that he has a sense of humor about it. And did I mention, he was cute and funny.

Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I loved Clay's part! He was gorgeous and funny and always. (And yes I think he looks darn good as Sir Robin!!!) The skit was cute, witty and showed that he's not at all ashamed of who he is. He has no reason to be. Just because some of Clay's fans aren't comfortable with him being gay doesn't mean that he can't be. It doesn't mean he's rubbing anyone's noses in anything. In my world, a Clay appearance is never, ever a disappointment!! I just love having the chance to see him on TV!

I would like to see this show work and it could with some tweaking. Cut way down on the number of guests - showcase their talents, and build in more character development with some skits. Once again, I thought Clay's part was great. Clay could do so well as a regular on a variety show. I feel a bit sad that this show didn't quite come off the way I was hoping. He probably didnt even have much of a say in the script. Not to be rude but it's really making me angry that people are bashing him so badly when he went on there to be a friend to Rosie and to promote Spamalot. (Hents the costume!) Obviously the people who are bashing him haven't completely accepted the fact that YES he IS gay. It's who he is and I'm very proud of him for at least mentioning in on live television.

I will never watch it again I can tell you! I watched Seinfeld. . the thought of Rosie, Kathy G, didn't appeal to me. I'll watch Clays part on download. I think Clay made a big enough statement of his orientation with the People magazine. Don't really know why it has to be the subject of jokes/bantar etc. Why? is that what he is going to be remembered for? What about his singing talent?
