It would be interesting to see how deep he could actually dig and how vulnerable he is willing to be. I personally don't think he could do a serious leading romantic romantic role because he seems too self conscious unless is can interact in a comedic way. I can't see him ever doing an on screen kiss. Hopefully he is taking some acting lessons to further his acting career. Getting tips from a brilliant director like Mike Nichols will surely teach him how bring out the best and most believable character. Since so much of Clay's career as been about "covers" I would love to see him tackle a fresh taylor made role with a cast of well know and respected actors. Look what happened to Jennifer Hudson when she was given a break.

The NJU are only once again being able to see his comedic side of him in his second invite back to SPAMALOT. I doubt that the NJU have followed Clay's musical career (as we have as fans) since AI2 thus I would love for the NJU in every state of America to experience his awesome voice. My pick would be for him to do PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. This would be one movie that he would not only be able to act in a Dramatic Role but also be able to showcase his awesome voice.

We know he has great comedic skills, but I would love to see his take on a serious/meanguy character.

I think that's why Clay acts goofy. He knows the power of his piercing gaze. Note the moment when he turns from the piano in Spamalot and stares out at the audience. Need I say more.

Posts: 368 (09/23/08 5:47 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	There have been many films that I thought would be great for Clay to do, but the one I always come back to as a perfect fit for our guy is, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." This one is not overly sexy in it's scenes, but there is a kind of love story that is easy and comfortable, and the main concept of a guy from the sticks coming to Washington D/C/ to represent his home state (which I believe was either southern or mid-west) and discovers the hypocrisy, and cynicism, and outright thievery that encompasses our seat of government, .......well that's just tailor-made for Clay.
