But I don't think she should be scolded for expressing her beliefs. jmo maybe it's that highlighted part she fins offensive!? well my mom worked and raised four kids on her own.. unfortunatly, her HUSBAND, my father, was a drunken a-----e and they divorced when i was very young.. thank god. my mother had to work.. we like needed food and stuff.. and i think she did a great job. Not everyone has a choice in these matter.. so good for you! IF it is the highlighted part she finds offensive than ad me to the list. I agree that everyone has a right to their opinions but that is just ignorant and offensive. Not everyone has the luxury of quiting their jobs and being a stay at home mom. This isn't 1960 anymore. I am a single Mom and it's not by choice, my ex was also a drunkin a-----e among other things and getting out of that situation was the best choice for my kids AND me. There are also more familys that can't make ends meet on two incomes let alone one in todays world. Sorry this is totally OT but that really started my blood boiling first thing in the morning.

Posts: 7249 (05/31/08 9:19 AM) Registered Member More Recent Posts Message Friend Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I didn't believe it before but now I think it's probably true because the story is in today's Washington Post: "American Idol alum Clay Aiken, 29, has a baby on the way with music producer and longtime friend Jaymes Foster, People magazine reports. According to the rep for the pregnant woman's brother, Foster was artifically inseminated by Aiken and is due in August. Foster and Aiken worked together in 2006, when she executive produced his album "A Thousand Different Ways." I realize that The Washington Post covered themselves by saying they were quoting People magazine BUT the fact that The Washington Post is a so-called legitimate news source makes me think they most likely are reporting a true story. I think that if the story is true it will have negative effect on Clay's career. I think some of his most loyal supporters will abandon him or at least lose their enthusiasm, which will have the same effect. My unsolicited advice to Clay is that he should start thinking about what career he will pursue after 'summer camp' (aka his career as an entertainer) ends.

I'm not faulting anyone for their feelings, but want to help you all feel better somehow and don't know exactly the words. This story does not upset me, but that doesn't mean there aren't others that it bothers and my heart goes out to each of you if you are one of them. Mostly I think it bothers many of us because of the fodder it gives the dark side to once again go at Clay. That might color some of our thoughts. Looking at what little we really know, is it immoral to give someone desperately wanting a child that gift as a friend and not a committed life partner? What 'moral code' does that break? If that is even what happened. If anything even happened. To fill in the blanks in our mind with our own motives and desires and decide Clay did something wrong, without all the facts, seems premature at best. I'm mostly confused that this is a 'bad' thing. I do care about Clay and I believe in him and want the best for him. This story has done absolutely nothing to change that.

Well, there's the Earthquake in the Province of Wenchuan, China and also Mayamar (i.e., Burma) that they may send him to. I think the most important thing now is that Jaymes shouldn't have to hear or read about all the negative publicity regarding "her, Clay and AI". She's 6 months pregnant and the most important thing now is that she doesn't get overly distraught that it causes harm to her baby. I feel that we, as Clay Aiken fans, need to send her some love via a bouquet of flowers. We need to SHOW OUR LOVE AND SUPPORT; STAND AND BE COUNTED. I'm willing to contribute if someone will lead this fundraising to send her flowers.

That is all that I (or anyone else for that matter,) can expect from him. He sings, we buy his CD's or go to his concerts. Our personal lives are just that. I don't owe him explanations on how I live my life and I certainly don't expect him to explain ANYTHING to me. Does he stop and question his fans about personal things on the Meet & Greets? Does he take a survey asking about people's private matters? It's bad enough he can't get a break from the press or the "haters," but it's really sad he can't get a break from some of his so-called fans. If indeed it's true he fathered the baby, who is ANYONE to judge him? The last time I checked, he's a grown man who is fully capable of making decisions - on his own. I have a friend who tried for YEARS to get pregnant. All she ever wanted was a baby, it was the most important thing to her and every time she talked to me about it - I could see the hurt and frustration she was feeling. The sadness in her face, her eyes, the tears. It was heartbreaking for her. And for anyone who lightly says, "Why not adopt?" - it isn't the same. Yes, adoption is wonderful but many, many people want someone who is their own flesh and blood - and they will keep trying to achieve that. Obviously, my friend and her husband tried "the old-fashioned" way - but she just couldn't get pregnant. Finally, they opted for artificial insemination and even THAT didn't take. They kept trying thru AI and it took TEN YEARS before she finally was able to conceive and finally be able to carry the child to term. That little girl is now a teenager and my friend is happy and fulfilled. I've seen comments about "why didn't Clay and Jaymes do it the normal way?" IF Clay opted to help her, she would not have gotten pregnant the "normal" way - that's why. If she had been trying for so many years, she might have tried AI many times and like my friend, it never took. We are all built differently, some people get pregnant easily, some need help and for many - they are never able to get pregnant no matter what they do. If he had something to do with it or not-fine. If he is married , not married-fine. Clay Aiken has brought me more happiness in my lifetime than I could ever imagine. He deserves to be happy and conduct his personal life without having to explain it to his fans. He gives me wonderful music, great concerts where I laugh myself silly and feel 16 again. He has given me a gift and I love him for it. Re-MissMobius(sorry if name is spelled wrong)-I think it is wonderful you were able to chose to stay home with your children. I was not so fortunate due to having a dead beat exhusband. If I wanted my children to eat-I had to work. I don't think that makes me or my children bad people-you can't paint a broad stroke on what is right or wrong for everything or everyone-I did what was best for my children and myself. edit- I do not think Clay needs to start thinking of another career! I can't even begin to think how painful it is to have to give up a child.

All of them are just copying what TMZ put out. The number of times it is told does not make the story more true than if it stopped with just one 'source'. It is the media who are to blame for this whole controversey, not Clay or Jaymes.

Posts: 8897 (05/31/08 9:30 AM) Brakin' for Aiken More Recent Posts Message Friend Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I've been reading around other boards and there is a lot of talk about how or why anything regarding Clay gets so blown out of proportion or who may be responsible for spreading rumors and why more isn't done by his management to deflect or deny them. There have been discussions going on that would not be allowed here at the Clayboard, and I'm not attempting to start those conversation here either. My point in mentioning it at all is that many agree that a lot of these smears are an attempt to fracture or break Clay's support from his fans. I don't think those who hate Clay ever thought this fandom would be a strong and supportive as it had been. That is something we need to continue to do, especially when the going gets tough. Yes, some people will turn away, but I hope the majority of those fans who have been with Clay through this amazing journey will continue to stand strong. No celebrity stays afloat on their own. Let us be the wings that lift him and carry him through this and not the anchors that bring him down when he needs us the most.

When they returned with the segment, it was about a Gala for David Foster only. My thought was, did they have to ditch that line of talk because it was going too far in stretching the rumors?

This is his personal life.....He does have a right to one. If his heart led him to have a child with Jaymes , then that is certainly his right to do so. I will still love to listen to that beautiful voice that can touch me like no other, and go to concerts that I get so excited about to see the amazing entertainer that Clay is. Why would I, or any true fan, give that up because of a personal decision that Clay made ? I want him to be happy. I have come to admire and love Clay for all that he is. I am sure , if the story is true , it is something very important to him. There is no greater gift than a child.

I wasn't going to respond to this thread at all....emotions are running high for many people and I understand that. BUT--this comment just cannot be ignored, at least by me. So, to fodderwing, and to others who may agree with that statememt, I say this: Give me a frigging break. THIS, if true, should end a career? Have you been living under a rock? Seems to me there are far more "scandalous" things that have happened in the celebrity world, and those things have NOT ended careers. I'm usually good with words, but this comment has me so incredibly angry that words I want to use just aren't coming to me at this point. That someone with his kind of talent should "start thinking about what career he should pursue" next is truly the most incredulous thing I've read on this thread. Truly mind boggling. So in your mind, the possibility of him becoming a father with Jaymes supercedes his talent? His humanitarianism? His compassion for others? His kindness towards others? HIS TALENT???? Are you kidding me???? I have to get out of here. I can't believe what "fans" are saying. Seems to me he may be better off losing some of them at this point.

Why get Clay into such a controversial situation and subject him to all this negative press? My enthusiasm for Clay will decrease if this is true, because I will not want to talk about this with my kids or promote him as a role model anymore.

Cheryl Thank you, Cheryl....you've put into words what I have had a hard time doing. I totally respect that Clay wants to protect his private life and I feel for him and for Jaymes that her pregnancy has been announced in this very inappropriate way, but it's out there, it really isn't private anymore, is it?? If Clay has made a conscious decision not to respond to the media, that's all well and good. If Clay is unable to respond, then it is what it is, if he cannot, he cannot. If he is leaving it up to Jaymes, that's fine, he is being respectful. But a Blog to us, on his site, would be just that.....for "US". Anything....just a "Don't worry" or a "everthing is fine" or just "I know you care", whatever...just for us, not the media, not the haters, just us. I care deeply for him, for these last 5 years have been the most enriched and fun times of my life. My children are all grown and all the ups and downs of being his fan have filled a void sometimes. I think what I'm feeling right now, after having a few days to think about it, is the fear of losing Clay. What would it hurt if he would just pop in and tell us that everything is OK. If he is choosing to remain "mum", for whatever reason, I think I would feel more at ease if we knew that he knew that we are standing by him, that we are waiting to hear from him, just as he has told us to wait to hear from him before. He has told us to ignore, but I don't want to ignore if this is something we should be celebrating!!!! How can we ignore something that is plastered all over, in our faces?? I want Clay to be happy, happy and fulfilled with his personal life and his professional life, and I want to be happy with him, especially if he is going to be a father. So, before we lose this thread, I just want to simply say, first, to Jaymes....please take care and congratulations and know that there are many folks who you don't even know that are praying for you and for a happy and healthy baby. It makes him look foolish and the jokes are flying.. having a child with a good friend is just out there, not a reason. She had many years to figure this out. Why Clay? He is 29 years old, and acts 49. He is young, and this is just out there. If she is so stressed or distraught and needs to be careful right now, just say something. Put an end to it. Its kinda of like let it go on and on, Clay is paying the price, not her. Its not right. They get on the boards and just talk about low CD sales, and what can WE do.. Its like not right. They read the boards, and say nothing. Because its none of our business? They made low CD sales our business. did they not? Its none of our business, but to let it go on and on, and Clay knows he has very dedicated fan base and to say nothing? Ever since Spamalot, and the whole Rush on this CD, one month promotion, short quick interviews, its over, out of sight, nothing, get on the board and fuss about what the fans are doing wrong, and then this. I dont like the whole situation from May 6 on.. the CD, the single chosen, the quick promotion, the taking summer off to rest, no response. This kind of crap will not help CD sales, a bad tactic. I am so dismayed from all the stuff from May 6 on, this year, I will step back, way back, as a fan, and just take a break from Clay for a long while. This whole mess is just weird and to say they did everyting they did to promote this CD and all and work hard, bull, if this story is true. harsh, but I have lost respect for this being a part of Clays fandom .
