I see it this way. Clay has always openly talked in Interviews that he would love to adopt a child. He even said that there was an orphanage in Raleigh (I believe that's where it was) that he would one day check it out. Now, Jaymes and Clay are very close friends and I can just picture the two of them talking about children and Jaymes mentions that she wants a child so bad but because of her age, she doubts that it is possible and Clay talks about how much he would like to adopt a child eventually. Then the subject moves to Jaymes casually mentioning that "she could always check out a Sperm Bank" for at least half the child will have her DNA and then, the goof that Clay is, says: "I want a child also so why don't I donate the Sperm". Little do both of them know that IT ENDS UP BEING PERFECT FOR BOTH OF THEM. For Clay and Jaymes, for this child would be more than just adopting a child for it would have each other's DNA.

Clay has not met anyone to fall in love with, yet he wanted to adopt a child so bad. Jaymes clock was ticking and she probably was thinking of going to a SPERM BANK so that the child could at least have her DNA. For Clay to meet someone, marry her, have a child and with all his touring, eventually that marriage would fail being that the wife would get tired of being home with the child while Clay was on the road and then his UNICEF work. Thus, it would just be like the majority of the Hollywood marriages that end up in the divorce court and the charge would be: "irreconcilable differences" (i.e., the spouse was never home, always traveling)..

I regard Clay Aiken as a male Angelina Jolie. She had failed marriages and her only regret was she didn't have any children. When she adopted her first child PAX, she divorced Billy Bob Thornton because he didn't want to be PAX' father, he said that he already had children. She then continued doing movies and working for the United Nations Charity for Children and continued to adopt. She also donates MILLIONS of her own money to the United Nations Childrens Fund.

Clay Aiken has a very busy schedule with his Music Career and his BAF and UNICEF but he too, wanted to adopt children (ala Angelina Jolie). This situation with Jaymes and her only regret from her divorce is that her "clock was ticking" and she wanted children so bad that she was thinking of going to a SPERM BANK and you know the rest above. THAT IS HOW I SEE IT.

Clay is Uncle Clay to Quiana's baby Chamberlain and I feel that Jaymes Foster had worried about her child, if she adopted, wouldn't have a father figure around. Thus, the old saying: "you can catch two birds with one stone", IMO this exactly what the two of them decided on. I'm quite sure both thought about all the gossip and what it would do to Clay's career but Clay Aiken is his own person and if this is true, I am so happy for the two of them. It just reaffirms in my mind that Clay Aiken will not let his career define who he is as a person. I meant it when I said that "he has my unconditional love and support in his career and private life." I WILL NEVER ABANDONED HIM.
