They are his Defenders. His Best Fans. They know best how to run his career etc.We've all seen fans like that on the boards, at concerts, at the stage door... or know some in RL... and they do reflect badly on the rest of us. If only RL had a portable ignore button you could just push on when needed... i so agree.

It's funny cause this group of fans has been bashed on this Board many times before........yet no one says a word about the people that are bullying them (for something that is obviously out of their control). I was VERY HAPPY that Jerome stepped in and set the accusational women straight - but highly embarrassed that he even had to.

This thread is the result of the split off from the discussion in the Spamalot thread on the Street. As I posted there, we do understand that there is concern about how fans represent the fandom through their behavior and an interest in discussing it. We are allowing this discussion in order that the Spam thread not be repeatedly derailed, however - ~ it is NOT a place to get into personal attacks or name names; ~it is not a place to rehash old discussions about fan behavior; and ~ it is not appropriate to quote comments from other non-Clay sites about Clay fan behavior. In the interest of productive conversation, I ask that everyone please be respective of other people's opinions and it should go without saying to also be respectful in discussion of Clay. Thanks!

One was the subject that you mentioned, Lynn, and the other was about a past stage door, I believe. Not knowing all the details, I didn't want to mention what I assumed they were talking about. But it seems there were 2 different issues that Jerome seemed to handle very well. I don't know what the outcome was with the group you mentioned, Lynn, but I think I know the outcome of the second issue. In any case, Jerome is a pretty good guy....he handled himself well, from the parts I heard. I'm glad he is with Clay.

The audacity of some to accuse "a certain group of fans", who are a constant annoyance with their plebeian behavior in the theatre as well as at the SD to be the reason for Clay's not appearing, is rather appalling.

Why is it necessary for some to always be flat up against the barricade for the umpteenth time? Why is it necessary to be overly loud to try to catch Clay's attention? Why try to ingratiate yourself with all the other members of Team Clay in order to have a "connection"? Why is it necessary to "clayvert" the world? I realize it is only a small portion of the fandom any of the above refers to but all of that behavior is quite off-putting for sure.

So, to see comments like this: Has this person seen the play 30 times and still brags about it? is disappointing to say the least, and just rubs salt into the already-festering wound. Why try to ingratiate yourself with all the other members of Team Clay in order to have a "connection"? The BIGGEST of all rhetorical questions. Posts: 669 (09/22/08 12:16 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have seen Clay fans of all shapes and sizes and Levels of Enthusiasm....what amazes me the most is how people question why Clay does this or that....I saw the post above about why Clay didn't come out for the SD....and Jerome said he had a meeting... Well....duh....I mean this is his job for goodness sakes....and we all have meetings...I wonder if people think that because Clay is performing that he doesn't have improvement meetings, or meetings with clients. etc. Yes...Clay's job may seem exciting...but it is still a job and there is a lot of preparation and work that needs to be done...work that we don't see or even understand before the final "product" is delivered.... And believe me...if Clay told the boss....sorry I can't come to this meeting now....I have to go and talk and see my fans....I would suspect that Clay would hear about that from his bosses.....just like if we blew off a meeting.....our bosses wouldn't be too happy about that either... All I have to say is if one of those mentioned is who I've heard it is they are a member here and so if they are reading I'd just like to say I'ts not about you. I'ts about the show, the cast, and the whole audience. If you think that Clay will pay more attention to you if you act up think again. He will only grow to dislike you (as will the rest of the cast). If you yourself no longer like him for one reason or another and are going only to cause a disruption in the end it only makes you look bad. Sorry to be such a spoil sport but it makes me angry that some fans think only of themselves.
