I like that this song was picked for the lead single. It's a great ballad written by one of Clive's favorites...maybe it means radio for Clay!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!
Aiken is well on his way to new CD "I would like to have signature songs," Clay Aiken says, "songs that are identifiable as mine as opposed to 'Clay Aiken sings such-and-such.' " That's why the American Idol Season 2 runner-up conducted an intensive search for songs he could connect with. "I went through a bunch of songs and found On My Way Here by (OneRepublic's) Ryan Tedder, and it hit me in the gut," he says. "It became the catalyst for the whole album to be lyrically connected - most of the songs relate to lessons I've learned." On My Way Here became both the title track and lead single for Aiken's album, due May 6 on RCA. The album, produced by Kipper, is Aiken's first collection of new material since his debut, 2003's Measure of a Man, which has sold nearly 3 million copies. Aiken co-wrote one song on the new album, Lover All Alone. Musically, he promises the new album has "a little bit of something for everyone, from symphonic-type ballads to upbeat, edgy stuff." So I quess we know what the lead single is.........right? |

On My Way Here became both the title track and lead single for Aiken's album, due May 6 on RCA.CD title. Makes sense. Crossing my fingers and saying a few prayers. |

Oooh, enlarge the picture.
Nice article though. Short but nice. I may wait to see what the official press release says. They may have assumed the lead single was OMWH. Thanks for posting. |

Judelvsclay wrote: well a ballad is pretty predictable for Clay. unfortunately for some it won't make them pay attention. I didn't mind it, would've liked something fun, but hey, Clay's mot askin' me. I hope people
pay attention anyway.

Co-wrote Lover All Alone? Didn't he write all the words to that song. Was it Lonely No More that he co-wrote with someone.
As long as I get to listen to his CD, go to his concerts, see him on TV, I don't care if he's not on radio. I don't listen to Pop radio anymore. My ears bleed, they play whiny, flat off-key screaming, desperate mess and I have to change the station ASAP to avoid stress. Had heard that Ashes would be the first single and that it was upbeat.

Actually Ken Barnes mentioned that several days ago in his USA Today blog.
I, too, am waiting to see what the press release says. |

I know that WE want radio play for him SO BADLY. But, he appears to not want it (or so he says), so maybe his current focus is on just the music, and if radio
play follows, so be it. Who knows, maybe Ashes (or another song) will come out next and make it to radio. It's all in the future, not for us to know
yet....

no matter what Clay does..it won't be right to many..
so he needs to do what is best for him. I can't wait to hear it..I've only heard what's been on WRAL... Come on, May 6th! |

Well, we only have the article's listing OMWH as the lead single.....but even if it is its a great great song, written by one of the top writer's in
music right now.........Tedder's music is relevant and has a great contemporary feel to it...many I am sure would kill to get to sing one of his songs so
if it is the single then I am in the happy trailer .....I love the song and Clay will just absolutely make it his own and wonderful..
Yes there are always some who just can't wait to say something negative no matter what it is..... |

Well, I think Clay will get radio play. I could understand the last time around as many of the originals of the songs on ATDW were still in rotation on the
station I listen to. I'm thinking positive. Why not?
