My husbands nurse at the care home's name is Clayton and she is a very feminine lady. I told her about CLAY and she laughed and said she gets nicknamed Clay also. She is from the South also. Isn't that interesting???

During my uncle's hospital stay this summer his nurse's name was Clay, spelled with an 'e' so it was Claye and she was a female. It was the first time I had heard of a woman named Clay(e), but there's a first time for everything.

The laughter at the dinner table was directed at what the grandmother said NOT who was mentioned.

I'm sorry but Clay is most clearly a man's name with very few exceptions. The writers knew full well what they were doing with that line. So glad I don't watch the show anyway. I really wonder if these kinds of jabs will ever stop.

Lighten up people The point was the young and very hot daughter was the one that offered up Clay's name when her Uncle asked them to guess what big name act he had lined up for the club that night. How can you possibly construe that as a diss? That he was popular with the teen set? Rita Moreno is an equally hot grandma with nary a whisker in sight by the way. And she didn't know who the eventually performer was either (nor did I) When I heard it, I started to laugh and thought great- It wasn't Justin Timberlake that the daughter mentionned!

Well, maybe I would call it more a stupid, cheap joke. Who knows for sure. What I do know for sure is that it doesn't matter one hoot. Not worth our time or trouble as these kinds of shows come and go and frankly...who cares!

A young (18 year old?) girl, very pretty I might add, guessed Clay's name as the BIG SURPRISE coming to his club. This showed that the younger generation likes Clay!!! So they mentioned Barry, Celine, Mariah, and Clay.....that's great! I'm hoping that no one else sends a letter to the show or network. Pretty soon no one will ever mention Clay again.....for fear of unhappy Claymates. When mentioning some of the best entertainers out there......THEY MENTIONED CLAY! I do not see it as a diss.

I'd say this is a bizarre, unnecessary slap at Clay. How weirdly random. They can kiss my butt. And, no, I won't be 'lightening up'. It's been nearly 5 years of this and similar nonsense. enough already. I've officially gotten to the point of having zero tolerance for this type of childish garbage. And you know what, this stuff sais absolutely nothing about Clay but it does speak volumes about the character of those who engage in this type of petty behavior. (if grandma truly didn't know who the person was, she would have said "who is that")

And while I'm often the one to tell people to lighten up, and the argument could be made that any publicity is good publicity and Clay's name was certainly thrown in there with major superstars, I thought this was a diss. Grandma could have said, "Who's that?" or "Who's he?" But by the writer inserting "she", and then having the same young girl who said Clay's name laugh, is undoubtedly someone's stupid immature joke about Clay's sexuality. (Does Jay Leno write for this show? )

It was a diss. It was scripted. Rita Moreno is a pro..she didn't say the wrong line. I am completely sick of these mean, small minded people who keep digging and digging. I don't know if I will write in, probably not..this one isn't worth my time but I won't be watching the show knowing what kind of a team they have.
